Transponder Key Questions
What's the difference between a transponder key and a regular key?
A transponder key has a chip embedded in the head that communicates with your car's immobilizer system. Without correct programming, the engine won't start even if the metal cut is right.
Can you program a spare while keeping my current key working?
Yes — adding a spare doesn't erase your existing keys unless you specifically ask us to wipe lost ones.
